Pawtucket – Rita D. (Plante) Konicki, 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of the late Emile Konicki for fifty-seven years.
Born in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Aurore (Denis) Plante.
She was the loving mother to Carol (Edward) Shea and Diane (Wayne) Estes, and grandmother to Joshua (Nicholas), Jonathan (Nicole), Emily (Killian) and Ana (Russel).
Rita was the proud great-grandmother to Nathan, Jon and Patrick Shea, and to baby boy O’Brien, due in May.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Leo, Roland, Albert, Henry, Paul, Ernest and Eugene Plante, Claire LeBeau, Irene Leberge, Theresa Delaney and Marie Charron.
A longtime resident of Pawtucket, Rita was an active member of the Senior Group of the former St.
Leo the Great Church, Pawtucket.
In her later years, as a resident of Rumford Towers, she enjoyed many activities and spending time with her friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sunny View Nursing Home, Warwick, for their kind and compassionate care.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, beginning with visitation at 9:00 a.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St.
Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford.
Interment with her late husband will follow at St.
Stephen Cemetery, Attleboro, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St.
Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St.
Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
