Born in Providence, raised in Lincoln, and settled in Pawtucket where she resided for many years.
She was the daughter of the late Louis, Jr. and Agnes K. (Kelley) DiGiovanni.
During her younger years, Rita developed a passion and love for dance.
She attended the Susan Burke School of Dance, where she continued to share that love of dance with her sister for fifteen years, as they competed regularly and traveled on occasion.
Rita went on to graduate from Lincoln High School, and continued her education at Allied Technical Institute where she studied phlebotomy.
She worked as a phlebotomist for thirty plus years at the former Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket.
Rita was a dedicated phlebotomist who touched the lives of many patients and co-workers in numerous ways.
Her empathy for others was unmatched, and her laughter was infectious.
In 2005, an unexpected illness led to her unfortunate retirement.
In her years of retirement, Rita enjoyed staying physically active and adored spending time and playing with her grandniece, Braelynn Rose Case.
She is survived by a brother, Kevin DiGiovanni and his significant other, Denise Palmer, of Coventry; a sister, Kerry Case of Pawtucket; four nephews, Edward Case IV and Christopher M.
