Attleboro – Rita M. (Desormeaux) DeQuattro, 96, of South Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024.

She was the wife of the late Vincent J.

Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Olive (Audette) Desormeaux.

Rita was a graduate of the former Notre Dame High School in Central Falls.

She went on to marry the love of her life, Vinny, and raise seven children.

She leaves six children, Diane Light (husband Bobby) of Nashville, TN, Janet Nelson of Timnath, CO, Stephen DeQuattro of West Warwick, Barbara Filipe of West Boylston, MA, James DeQuattro (wife Debbie), of South Attleboro, MA,  Carol Silver (husband Brian), of Needham, MA, and the late Michael DeQuattro.

She leaves a brother, Wilfred Desormeaux (wife Kathy) as well as fourteen grandchildren: Shana Light, Mariah Light Mannion, Lauren Nelson, Sam Nelson, Matthew DeQuattro, Daniel Filipe, Andrew Filipe, Sarah Filipe Altmiller, Elizabeth Filipe, Aaron Filipe, Alyssa DeQuattro, Nicholas DeQuattro, Zachary Silver, and Molly Silver; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was a longtime active member of St.

Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish in South Attleboro.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and she enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.

Rita volunteered with the American Red Cross blood drive and a food pantry for many years.

Above all, she was devoted to her family and friends and will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past ninety-six years.

The funeral will be held on Monday, December 30th at 9:30 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St.

Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro.

Interment will follow at Newell Burying Ground in Attleboro.

VISITATION will be held on Sunday, December 29th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Madonna Manor Nursing Home, 85 North Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760. would be appreciated.
