Pawtucket – Rita M. (Purnell) Brown, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2017.
She was the beloved wife of the late Norman W.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Farrell) Purnell.
Rita was a talented seamstress, an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Above all she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Rita leaves two daughters, Jean A.
Brown of Lincoln and Joan Brown-Hepburn of Pawtucket; two sons, Norman W.
Brown, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Plymouth, MA and James E.
Brown of Riverview, FL; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her great-grandson, PFC Bryan Lounsbury; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Brown and all four of her siblings.
VISITATION will begin on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Church of St.
Leo the Great, 699 Central Ave.
Interment will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
