Pawtucket - Lt. Richard “Dick” A. Campbell, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Philomena “Millie” M. (Borek) Campbell for 62 and one half years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John J. and Catherine T. (Hughes) Campbell. Dick was a communicant of St. Teresa Church and was a former Lector, Eucharistic Minister and Past-president of the Parents Club (St. Teresa School 1977-78). He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran having served in the Asiatic Theater, on the Island of Attu, Aleutian Islands. He was a retired Lieutenant of the Pawtucket Fire Department having served 30 years and was also a talented carpenter. Dick was a Past-president of the Pawtucket Fireman’s Relief Association; former treasurer of the Firefighters Union, Local 1261 and was awarded RI Firefighter of The Year (1966) by the RI State Association of Professional Firefighters.
