Pawtucket - Rene Michaud, 75, a proud U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran who served his country with honor, died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Mr. Michaud had a fulfilling life, starting from his early days in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where he was born on January 23, 1949. He attended St. Cecilia School and Pawtucket Vocational School, shaping his skills and knowledge. At the age of 17, Mr. Michaud enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for three years and achieved the rank of Fire Control Technician (missile Guidance Systems, Petty Officer 2nd Class). His dedication to his service was evident through the medals he earned, including the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal and Bronze Star. Outside of his military service, Mr. Michaud had a passion for working on cars, a skill he learned from his father.
