Rene Gingras

Attleboro – Rene Gingras, 86, of South Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2015.

He was the beloved husband of Lois J. (Packer) Gingras for 59 years.

Rene was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.

He worked for Royal Crown Cola and Cumberland Engineering as a truck driver, and most recently worked at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles until retiring several years ago.

He was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 5876, South Attleboro and St.

Theresa Holy Name Society, where he received the Marion Medal Award.

Rene enjoyed woodworking and spending time at the beach with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves three daughters, Karen L.

Landa and her husband, Pablo of Miramar, FL, Kathy L.

D’Arrigo and her husband, David of Concord, MA and Judith A.

Moscatel and her husband, Joseph of Walpole, MA; five grandchildren, Deanna Landa, Samuel and Jillian D’Arrigo, Taylor and Nicholas Moscatel; two sisters-in-law, Irene Gingras and Jeanette Gingras and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Rita Gendron, Alice Dumas, Anita Gendron, Albert Gingras and Robert Gingras.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Life Care Center of Attleboro for their exceptional care and compassion over the past several years.

His funeral with Military Honors will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from the CHEETHAM Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St.

Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro.

Interment will follow at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro.

VISITATION will be Thursday 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Life Care Center of Attleboro, Activities Fund, 969 Park St., Attleboro, MA 02701 will be appreciated.
