East Providence – Rene L.
Beauchemin, 91, of Rumford, formerly of Pawtucket and Seekonk, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude L. (Boudreau) Beauchemin.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Philippe and Marie-Rose (Hetu) Beauchemin, he resided in Rumford since 1993, previously residing in Pawtucket from 1927 until moving to Seekonk in 1966.
Rene was a World War II Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was the proprietor of the former Rene’s Bakery of Pawtucket and Seekonk for 25 years until retiring in 1975.
Rene was an avid bowler and enjoyed all sports, especially the Red Sox and Patriots.
He was a member of St Teresa’s Seniors, Pawtucket and the Rumford Towers Tenants Association.
He leaves his three children and their spouses, Camille and Elaine Beauchemin of Panama City Beach, FL, Claire and David Stearns of Harrisville, RI and Roger and Kathy Beauchemin of Cranston, RI; a sister, Sister Alice Beauchemin of St.
Joseph’s Convent, Biddeford, ME; a brother, Wilfrid Beauchemin of Attleboro, MA; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Armand Beauchemin and Yvonne Houle.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Dr., Seekonk.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
VISITATION will be Friday 4-7 p.m.
