Poncin, Sr., 79, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Sunday, February 26, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Angiolillo) Poncin for 56 years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Clement P. and Freda (Heinrick) Poncin.
Ray was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War Era and worked for many years as a designer and model maker in the lighting fixture and sheet metal industries.
He was a New England Patriots fan and also enjoyed cooking, working in his yard and traveling north to Vermont to spend time in the mountains with his wife.
Ray was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 311, Seekonk where he enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his beloved wife, Raymond leaves four children, Linda L.
Poncin and her companion, Charles “Chuck” Owen of Franklin, Raymond E.
Poncin, Jr. and his wife, Susan of West Warwick, Susan E.
Levin and her husband, Mitchell of Warwick and Eric J.
Poncin and his wife, Lisa of Seekonk; Six grandchildren, Katherine, Stephanie, Eric, Collin, Julia and Christopher, several nieces and nephews and all of his dear friends at the American Legion Post 311. “Have one for me guys!” Ray also leaves his three beloved cats, Maggie, Christian and Nicholas.
He was predeceased by his beloved first born son, Michael Poncin and his siblings, Richard Poncin, Robert Poncin, Donald Poncin, Elaine Lacroix and George Poncin.
VISITATION will begin on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. followed by Services at 3:30 p.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Flowers are respectfully omitted.
