Bradenton, FL – Raymond L.
Begin, 83, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Keys) Begin for thirty-five years.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Oliver and Eva (Desmarais) Begin.
Ray grew up in Pawtucket and graduated from the former Sacred Heart Academy, Central Falls.
Navy, Ray served his country during the Vietnam era as a cook for his fellow mates.
He worked in sales for MetLife, Woonsocket, for fifteen years prior to retiring in 2004.
Ray and Dorothy relocated to Florida nearly twenty years ago and were members of St.
George’s Episcopal Church in Bradenton.
Ray enjoyed cooking, entertaining and was passionate about his volunteer work with the church.
He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Begin of Bradenton, FL, and Dawn Moffitt and her husband, Douglas, of Ponder, TX; a stepson, John Richard of Cranston, RI; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two siblings, Leon R.
Begin and his wife, Pauline, of Attleboro, MA, and Dolores Corriveau and her husband, Richard, of Scituate, RI.
He was the brother of the late Evelyn Daniels and Wilfred Begin.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Requiem Eucharist on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in St.
Barnabas Episcopal Church, 3257 Post Rd., Warwick.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 S.
County Trail, Exeter.
Visitation and floral tributes are respectfully omitted.
Guests are encouraged to don a touch of red in honor of Ray’s favorite color.
