Polly Ann (Davis) Stiles, 82, formerly of Berkeley Springs, WV, Pawtucket, RI, and Swansea, MA, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Tufts Medical Center. Born in Cranston, RI, she was a daughter of the late Joseph M. Davis, Sr. and Ruth O. (James) Davis.
Polly was a 1960 graduate of Pawtucket West High School and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island and a master's degree in business from Frostburg State College. Immediately after college at URI, she moved to Washington DC and spent five years teaching elementary and middle school in the northern Virgina suburbs. After moving to West Virginia in 1970, and spending time at home with her family, Polly became the Regional Director for Nutrition and Aging Services of the Eastern Panhandle. In the late 1980's she moved back to home to Pawtucket and served as the General Manager at Riverside Cemetery for 32 years. While working at Riverside Polly joined many organizations and served in leadership including but not limited to: Past President, RI Cemetery Association; Past President, Preservation Society of Pawtucket; Past Secretary/Board Member of the To Kalon Club, Pawtucket; and longtime member of the Pawtucket Rotary Club.
Polly was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was also a member of the Park Place Congregational Church in Pawtucket.
She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Tina Stiles-Preble (Steve) of West Newbury, MA, siblings; Judith Davis Zaluski (Robert) of Rehoboth, MA and Joseph M. Davis, Jr. of Newport, grandchildren; Victoria Preble and Katherine Preble, and nieces and nephews; Stacey, Joseph III, Lauren, Christian, David, and Susan.
She was predeceased by her sister, Constance Davis Vadnais Baker.
SERVICES will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Park Place Congregational Church, 71 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Pawtucket.
