Pawtucket – Piedad (Velez) Perez, 64, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 26, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Luis J. Perez for thirty-six years. Born in Colombia, a daughter of the late Bernardo and Rosmira (Ortiz) Velez, she resided in Pawtucket since 1989. Piedad loved all animals. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Melissa Perez and Catalina Perez both of Pawtucket; four brothers, a sister and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Rumford Cemetery.
