Phillip George Spenard of Attleboro, MA, born on January 11, 1947 passed away on August 16, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Florence Matook Spenard and leaves behind a son, Ken Spenard and his wife, Carol; a daughter, Kara Hunter and her husband, Joe; son, Thomas Spenard and his wife, Kelly; a predeceased son, Christoher; stepdaughters, Beth McGrath and her husband, Doug; stepdaughter, Sheri Turner and predeceased stepson, Scott Bleasdale. Phil was the proud grandfather of several grandchildren and had been awaiting the arrival of a great-granddaughter. He is also leaving behind a sister, Adele and several nieces and nephews. As a husband, he unconditionally loved his wife. As a father, he supported and cherished his children. As a grandfather, he served as a role model and friend.
Phil's lifetime career was in the plumbing and heating business, where he practiced his craft for over 60 years. This softspoken, gentle and kind man selflessly put everyone else's welfare before himself and practiced what he preached. He served on the Parish Council and volunteered his time and effort, helping whenever he could. For over 30 years, he and his wife enjoyed boating and being members of the Edgewood Yacht Club, where many lifetime memories were experienced. Other endeavors included being an active member of the Taunton Power Squadron.
There will be a void in the lives of those who loved and of those who knew him and for his devotion to his family, his love of seafood and his passion for all sports.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10 a.m. followed by Services at 12 p.m. at St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 249 High St., Pawtucket.
