Peter G. Ross

September 24, 1933 — April 2, 2021

Ross, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 2, 2021.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Matthews) Ross for sixty-two years.

Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late George and Sophie (Papagonia) Ross.

Peter resided in Pawtucket before moving to Seekonk in 1964 and proudly served in the United States Army.

Before retiring from Amtrak, Peter had been employed by Conrail, the Providence and Worcester Railroad and Moshassuck Valley Railroad.

Prior to his career with the railroad, he was a compositor at The Pawtucket Times and then at the Providence Journal.

Peter attended the Memorial Baptist Church, Seekonk, where he had served on the Building Committee.

He was previously a Deacon and active member of the former South Attleboro Assembly of God.

Peter was also a member of the Little Rhody Aero Engineers.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Holly J.

Fournier and her husband, Brian, of Seekonk; a son, Rev.

Ross and his wife, Heather, of Dayton, Ohio; six granddaughters, Emily Fournier, Elizabeth Fournier, Jillian Fournier, Lilya Fournier, Sarah Ross and Rebecca Ross.

He was the brother of the late Annie Zotos, John Ross, Timothy Ross, Catherine Nanos, Arthur Ross and Frances Vardakis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Services on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Memorial Baptist Church, 340 Central Ave., Seekonk.

Interment will immediately follow at Seekonk Cemetery.

Visitation and floral tributes are respectfully omitted.
