She was the beloved wife of Stephen Girard for forty years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Dorothea (Lewis) Rego. Paula-Jean worked as an expeditor for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA, and later at the former Morris Novelty in Pawtucket before retiring. Paula-Jean and her husband enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors together. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Shawn Mahonec of Florida; a brother, John Rego, Sr. of Alaska, three sisters-in-law, Paula Levesque of Burrillville, Lori Pfiel of Attleboro and Shari Bitsis of Seekonk, MA; a brother-in-law, Arnold Fontaine of Pennsylvania and two nephews, John, Jr. and Mike Rego, both of Alaska.
