Paul A. Roy

December 28, 1951 — October 8, 2011

Roy, 59, passed away peacefully at home with his family after a long illness, on Saturday, October 8, 2011.

He was the beloved husband of Linda (Correia) Roy for 39 years.

Born in Pawtucket to the late Charles and Gisele (St.

Pierre) Roy, he lived in Seekonk for 33 years.

He was a graduate of Providence College and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 29 years.

Paul served in the U.S.

He was a dedicated volunteer over the years, as a coach for a number of town youth sports, and as the coordinator of the George R.

Martin School Sports Day for several years.

He also organized the Seekonk Over 35 Basketball League.

Prior to his illness, he was a Hospice Volunteer and a Volunteer Tutor of English as a Second Language with Catholic Social Services, serving the immigrant community of New Bedford, MA.

He loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed fishing, kayaking, sports and nature walks with his dog.

He was a true gentleman who exemplified integrity, strength, humor and kindness throughout his life.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves a son, Jesse Roy and a daughter, Sarah Gravel and her spouse William; brother George Roy and his spouse Christine Stafford, sister Charlene Perry and her spouse David, sister Dianne Carroll and her spouse Gary, brother Roland Roy and his spouse Margaret, mother-in-law Celeste Correia, brother-in-law James Correia and his spouse Nadine and many very devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.

Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

VISITATION Thursday 4 to 7 p.m.
