Attleboro - Attorney Paul M.

Rockett, 90, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday night at the Life Care Center in Attleboro.

He was a communicant and lector at Saint John the Evangelist Church as well as being a lifetime member of the Serra Club and Massachusetts Bar Association.

Attorney Rockett of 45 Preston Road, Attleboro enjoyed a successful trial law practice downtown Attleboro spanning over 40 years.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved wife of 58 years Eleanor Mary (Conrad) Rockett.

Rockett a native of Fall River, Massachusetts, graduated from Durphee HS, attended Providence College, Rhode Island School of Design, Bryant College and Suffolk University Law School with degrees of BA, BS and LLB, JD.

With his sharp mind, keen sense of humor and calm demeanor he made a lasting impression on people over the years, never saying no to friends or strangers alike.

He was someone who could be unquestionably relied upon.

Paul was instrumental in starting C.Y.O. and the youth football league (Jewelry City Juniors) in the mid sixties along with the tireless help of the late Jerry Heagney and the late Rory Picchi of the Old Union Theater.

He made it his point that if a youngster ever needed equipment, cleats or the like, the next day they would be at their doorstep.

He gave to numerous causes and charities throughout his life never having to be asked.

He served honorably as a WWII US Naval Aviator, a fighter pilot flying off carriers in the North Atlantic, Pacific and North African Theatres, being awarded eight medals for valor including a Presidential Citation for distinction in combat with Bronze Star attached.

Following the war, he served out his reserve duties at both Jacksonville and Quonset Point Naval Air Stations.

Rockett is pre-deceased by a son, Paul Conrad Rockett, and a daughter, Mary Ellen Rockett.

Being survived by his ever loyal wife Eleanor Mary (Conrad) Rockett, a son, Sean Manning Rockett of Attleboro and loving daughter-in-law, Sara Lucia R.

Penaloza of Attleboro and Cartagena, Colombia.

He leaves a brother, Hugo Rockett, Esq., of Cotuit, Massachusetts and Edward Rockett, Esq., of Connecticut, numerous nieces and nephews, 3 beautiful grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Speaking as a son, I don't believe there are enough words to encapsulate who this man truly was.

For those who met Paul throughout the years you could not help but being left with a lasting impression of a kind and decent man.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St.

John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main St., Attleboro, MA.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mt.

Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
