Desrosiers, 69, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Yvette (Gagnon) Desrosiers.
People gravitated towards his larger-than-life energy and, no matter how short the interaction might be, he left an impression on everyone who knew him.
He was a leader in fighting for social justice and human rights in the sixties and seventies, always fighting for the underdog and could easily rally complete strangers to join his cause.
He took great pride in his successful taxi business, Big Daddy Taxi, and truly enjoyed the variety of people and conversations it brought into his life.
No one was a stranger for very long in Big Daddy’s company.
He had a passion for music and movies.
He was a cancer survivor for the last 5 years of his life.
His greatest love, by far, were his seven children and their families.
There was nothing in the world that made him happier than being a father and a grandfather.
He is survived by seven children: Sarah Duncan and her husband, Stephen, of Harmony; Emily Desrosiers of Providence; Jacob Desrosiers of Chepachet; Zachary Desrosiers and his wife, Tina, of Smithfield; Eliza Desrosiers of Providence; Mary Desrosiers and her husband, Scott Veith, of Needham, MA; and Ruthie Desrosiers of Johnston.
He was proud Pepere to eight grandchildren: Hannah, Ava, Jackson, Lilian, Gabriel, Mia, Brielle and Arabella.
Paul is survived by three brothers: Arthur Desrosiers and his wife, Marian; Marc Desrosiers and his wife, Emelda; and David Desrosiers.
He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019, beginning at 2:00 p.m. followed by a Service at 5:00 p.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to St.
