Panagiotis "Peter" Stathatos

Central Falls - Panagiotis “Peter” Stathatos, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Eleni “Helen” Stathatos (Marnelakis). Peter was born in the village of Valsamata, on the island of Kefalonia, Greece, to the late Damianos and Harinoula Stathatos (Niforatos). In his youth he served with pride in the Greek Navy and then with the Merchant Marines of Greece, where his travels took him around the world to Costa Rica, Peru, Italy, Great Britain, Australia, and Canada, where he finally settled. Peter met his wife, Eleni, in the Greek community of Montreal, Canada, and they wed in 1959. They began their family, and then emigrated to Rhode Island in 1968 where he was employed as a machine specialist by the Siegel Lace Corporation followed by Providence Braid Corporation for over 40 years.
