East Providence – Nancy E. (Harte) Ryan, 71, of Rumford, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, after a courageous 35 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph T.
Born in Arlington, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Ethel (Walsh) Harte, she was raised in Milton, MA and had resided in Rumford since 1977.
Nancy was a graduate of Milton High School and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
She had been a fourth grade teacher at Prescott Elementary School, Norwood, MA.
Nancy was a former member of the Wannamoisett Country Club and in the past had been involved with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Most of all, she enjoyed being very involved in the lives of her grandchildren.
Nancy was an inspiration to all.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Kathie A.
Frattarelli and her husband, Anthony of Rumford; two sons, Joseph T.
Ryan and his wife, Rebecca of Norwood, MA and Michael T.
Ryan and his wife, Greta of Newton, MA and nine grandchildren, Tori, Ricky, Lily, Maddie, Charlie, Joey, Matt, Brendan and Danny.
She was the sister of the late Robert and William Harte.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.
Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford.
VISITATION will be Friday 4 to 7 p.m.
