Nancy J. Babota

Pawtucket – Nancy J. (Maynard) Babota, 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025. She was the beloved wife of James “Jim” M. Babota for forty-two beautiful years.

Nancy was the daughter of the late Irving J. Maynard, Sr. and Shirley M. (O’Neil) Varin. She resided in Providence before moving to Pawtucket forty-two years ago.

Nancy worked in the insurance industry, until she retired in 2015. Nancy knew the simple things in life brought the most enjoyment. She loved being with and caring for her family, home-cooked meals and holidays, especially Christmas. She and her husband spent many years on the water, enjoying their boat, water-skiing and the open air. Two of her favorite pastimes was watching old classic movies and enjoying her much loved cats.

Besides her husband, she leaves two sisters, Dorothy A. Yeamen and her husband, James A., and Karen A. McCaffery and her late husband, Edward; a nephew, Samuel J Yeamen and his fiancée, Laura A. Laite; a niece, Julie A. Carrigan and her husband, Brian, and their children, Paige, Brynn and Barrett. She was the sister of the late Muriel C. Coppage and Irving J. Maynard, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation beginning on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. followed by Services at 4:30 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, will be private. Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts to the RISPCA, 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.
