Pawtucket – Milagros “Milly” (Gómez) Gonzalez, 67, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of Paul Gonzalez, Jr., for forty-nine loving years.
Born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Modesto and Maximina (Ortiz) Gómez.
Milly worked for many years at Texas Instruments in Attleboro, where she took classes in English as a Second Language.
She loved to learn and was proud of her bilingual ability to express herself.
She enjoyed dancing and listening to music.
Milly also enjoyed spending time with her loving family from Puerto Rico and writing them letters, after she moved to Rhode Island to start her family.
The second half of her life truly lived up to the meaning of her name (Milagros means “miracles”).
After a traumatic brain injury in 1995, she survived and moved to a rehabilitation center on 70 Gill Avenue in Pawtucket, RI, where she would spend the remaining years of her life.
She took nothing for granted and always expressed unconditional love.
She enjoyed all the activities that were offered, especially playing BINGO and any live entertainment that came in.
She celebrated the weddings of both her children and took joy in holding her grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered as a strong spirited woman whose smile and memorable laughter would light up any room.
Above all, Milly was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Her presence was a gift.
Besides her beloved husband, she leaves two children, Amy M.
Gonzalez and her husband, Matthew Fister of Arlington, Massachusetts and Gabriel Gonzalez and his wife, Sandra, of Cumberland; three grandchildren, Gabriella, Gavin and Grayson Gonzalez and 9 siblings, Emérito Gómez, Bienve Gómez, Ismael Gómez, Tito Gómez, Carmín Gomez, Emma Gómez, Rene Gómez, Raquel Gómez and Nereida Gómez.
She was the sister of the late Cecilia Gómez and Vitin Gómez.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend SERVICES on Tuesday, January 28th at 11:30 a.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by interment at St.
John Cemetery in Attleboro.
VISITATION will be held on Monday, January 27th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
