Michael S. Krzywonos

April 29, 1955 — March 15, 2026

Pawtucket

Pawtucket - Michael S. Krzywonos, 70, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Sunday Morning, March 15, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Duffy) Krzywonos for nearly forty loving years. Born in Pawtucket, Michael was a son of the late Matthew and Anita (Ringuette) Krzywonos.

Mike graduated from North Attleborough High School in 1974 and went on to a career as a machinist for over forty years at both Englehart Industries and TMI in Lincoln.

Michael was a devout Catholic and longtime and active parishioner at St. John Paul II Parish in Pawtucket, where he served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. He was a proud Forth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus (Delaney and St. Pius Councils). Mike was a charter member of the St. John Paul II K of C Council and served as Grand Knight (twice) and as a District Deputy for the RI Knights of Columbus. He also served as the executive secretary for past state deputies, Peter Lentini, Michael Benson and Michael Dziok.

Through his work as a knight, Mike was a staunch defender of pro-life issues and was honored with the Lumen Gentium Award in the Respect Life Category in 2018. He and his wife, Pat, were co-chairs of the RI State Council Culture of Life since 2008.

In addition, Mike directed the annual Diocese of Providence, Knights of Columbus annual Pro-Life Dinner each January, which provided funding for the Diocese of Providence Project Gabriel Mission (Mike served the Project Gabriel Mission as a special councilor and attended the annual March for Life in Washington, DC for the past many years), the Mother of Life Center, The Little Flower Home and Pro-Life Across American Billboards.

Mike also served on several various boards including the Diocese of Providence Human Life Guild and the RI Right to Life Committee.

For approximately ten years, Mike served at the co-chairman of the Knights of Columbus Silver Rose program, where he traveled nearly each day in the month of October to bring a rosary prayer service and the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to different parishes around the diocese, K of C councils, and community centers to raise awareness for the unborn and high risk pregnancies at risk of abortion. Mike was a strong believer in the power of prayer and the love of God, to empower those in the protection of the unborn and others threatened by a culture among society that does not support pro-life issues.

In addition to his devotion to God and his Catholic Faith, Michael was a loving and faithful husband, devoted and proud father, brother, uncle and dear friend. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved daughter, attending and participating in all aspects of her life, including many family gatherings and outings, sports events, and competitions with the RI Special Olympics, Pawtucket Pacers. Mike will also be long remembered as an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox Fan, and for his enthusiasm for riding roller coasters (of all kinds), with his nieces and nephews at various theme parks throughout New England.

Mike will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over the past seventy years.

Besides his beloved wife, Mike leaves a daughter, Kathryn "Kathy" Krzywonos of Pawtucket; five siblings, David Krzywonos and his wife, Phyllis, of Tucson, AZ, Donna Walsh of Seekonk, Betty Brinard and her husband, Richard, of Attleboro, Roger Krzywonos of Seekonk, and James Krzywonos of Attleboro; three aunts, Mary Ringuette of Dayville, CT, Ann Ringuette and Flora Robinson both of North Attleboro, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, George Walsh.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the RI Special Olympics, Pawtucket Pacers, 370 George Washington Hwy., Smithfield, RI 02917 would be appreciated. www.TrippFuneralHome.com
