Michael P. Cavallaro

February 9, 1949 — June 10, 2023

East Providence – Michael P.

Cavallaro, 74, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the devoted husband of Maria C. (Vieira) Cavallaro for twenty-six years as they celebrated their wedding anniversary on May 31st.

Born in Providence, Michael was raised in Bristol as the only child of the late Irene (Cordeiro) Cavallaro.

As a youngster, Michael attended St.

Elizabeth School and was an active part of that community through his service as an alter server.

Later in life he continued to serve the community as a member of the Knights of Columbus in Bristol.

Michael was a 1967 graduate of  De La Salle Academy in Newport, RI.

He continued his education at the University of Rhode Island where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1971.

Michael was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, which he proudly represented with a commemorative tattoo.

Michael had an incredible work ethic that began at a very young age, starting with his own paper route.

As an adult, he worked consistently over the years fulfilling many managerial roles including New England Metal Co., where he worked as the purchasing manager out of their Providence location.

Michael also worked at Monet Jewelers for over twenty years as a production manager, and later served as plant manager at Criterion Metals in Lincoln.

Michael was known throughout his workplace as being a kind and compassionate man who cared about others, took time to listen and tried to help others in need.

He made the effort to build connections with his employees and break through language barriers.

Michael’s humble presence and non-judgmental nature will be dearly missed by the lives he has touched over the years.

Despite Michael’s devotion to his profession, he was deeply committed to his family.

Michael was an active participant in the lives of his children and seldomly missed any of their sporting events.

During his spare time, Michael enjoyed playing golf, skiing, sunbathing, walking through Colt State Park or just taking a scenic ride by the ocean.

Throughout his entire life you could always find him rooting for the Patriots, no matter how their season was going.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three beloved daughters, Kristen (Cavallaro) Cartwright of Seekonk, MA, Jennifer Cavallaro of Fall River, MA and Stacey (Barata) Semenkow of Bristol, and four adoring grandchildren, Kayla McDermott, Korryn Cartwright, Ethan Semenkow and Mason Semenkow.

Michael enjoyed family time, especially in small settings.

Visits from his grandchildren always brought a smile to his face.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at  William W.
