Maurice "Moe" R. Messier, Sr.

Seekonk – Maurice “Moe” R. Messier, Sr., 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Janet M. (Hoffay) Messier for 64 years. Together, Moe and Janet would have celebrated 65 years this November. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Henry and Florence (Grenier) Messier. Moe was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and worked at the L.G. Balfour Co., Attleboro for 35 years, retiring in 1997. He was a longtime member of the American Legion, Post 312, South Attleboro. In his youth, Moe participated on many local sport teams and later served as a football and basketball coach in the Town of Seekonk. Besides his wife, Moe leaves a daughter, Mary F. Dewhurst and her husband, David, of Plainville, MA; two sons, Maurice R. Messier, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Seekonk and Mark A.
