Maureen E. Outlaw

As a sunflower grows, faithfully leaning toward the light, we are reminded that love and devotion grow the same way — slowly, steadily, always turning toward the light held in our hearts and memories.

Today, remembering her light and love, the family of Maureen E. (Cassidy) Outlaw announce her passing on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, with her loving husband by her side.

She is survived by her husband, Reginald Outlaw of Holiday, Florida; her son Brian Williamson of Attleboro, Massachusetts, and his wife Usha; and her stepchildren Bryan Outlaw of Cape Coral, Florida, Jeffrey Outlaw of Williamson, South Carolina, and Kyle Outlaw of Quincy, Massachusetts.

Born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to a proud and loving Irish family, Maureen was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude Cassidy. She is also survived by two brothers, Michael Cassidy of Pawtucket and Joseph F. Cassidy Jr. of Germantown, Maryland; and two sisters, Joni Packhem and Diane Dorval, both of Pawtucket and by several nieces, nephews, great‑nieces and great‑nephews.

For more than thirty years, Maureen was a devoted educator in the Pawtucket school system, teaching at both Varieur and Curvin McCabe Elementary Schools. She was an active member and volunteer at St. Cecilia Parish in Pawtucket, as well as a volunteer at the local soup kitchen and other community programs.

After spending time as snowbirds, traveling between Rhode Island and Florida, Maureen and her husband settled in Holiday, Florida. She continued her devotion to volunteerism, offering help and support at the local elementary school and participating fully in parish life at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, where she served as secretary of the parish’s ladies’ organization. Maureen enjoyed aerobics classes, dance classes, and vacation cruises.

Today, as we say farewell, we remember that Maureen’s smile was like a sunflower turning toward the light — steady, warm, and full of life. Even in memory, she leans toward brightness, reminding us that love, once planted, always finds the sun.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. Burial will follow at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

VISITATION will be held in the Parish Hall prior to the Mass from 9:00a.m.-9:50a.m..

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Maureen's memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave, Pawtucket.
