Cumberland – Mary C. (Soares) Viegas, 100, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Viegas and the late Manuel Amaral. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Musilino and Eliza (Bettencourt) Soares. Mary worked for many years as a CNA and a home health aide and previously worked for many years as a seamstress. A tribute to Mary from her granddaughter, Christa: “Anyone who knows my Vavo, knows she’s the life of the party. She is one of the special people in this world who brighten it. She overcame so much and raised her amazing daughters. Her grandkids, great-grandkids and her great-great-grandkids adore her. She is 100 years old and is coming to the point where she is ready to leave this world, and I want her life to be celebrated. A lot of my friends know her, she was the “Little Queen of Pawtucket”.
