Mary J. Richardson

East Providence – Mary J. (Canning) Richardson, 95, of Rumford, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Richardson, Jr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Margaret M. (Hayden) Canning, she resided in Rumford since 1947. Mary was a 1941 graduate of St. Xavier Academy, Cranston and 1943 graduate of the former Edgewood Junior College. She served on the Annual Giving Committee of Providence Country Day School; former board member at St. Dunstan’s Day School; member of the Women & Infants Corporation and a volunteer, board member and member of the former Memorial Hospital of RI Corporation. Mary was also a former member of the Wannamoisett Country Club, Rumford and a member of Hazards Beach Club, Newport for fifty-two years. She leaves four sons, John W.
