Mary V. Mahtasian-Deshaies

Pawtucket – Mary V. Mahtasian-Deshaies, 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in Providence. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late George and Angela (Capra) Mahtasian. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Mary was a faithful communicant and religious teacher at the former St. Leo the Great Church, Pawtucket. She was a writer for the Pawtucket Times for seventeen years before retiring in 1997. Mary was a proud author of two books, I’ll Never Say Goodbye and The Rooster’s Paradise. Her presence will be greatly missed by all the lives she has touched throughout her life. She is survived by three children, Patricia McGovern and her husband, Daniel, of FL, Darlene Helm and her husband, William, of Somerset, MA and John Deshaies and his partner, George Gagnon, of Pawtucket; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Agnes Costa, Elizabeth Lawriski and Paul and John Mahtasian. A private graveside service will be held in St. Stephen Cemetery, Attleboro,...
