Pawtucket – Mary Theresa (Koury) Choquette, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 17, 2021.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward F.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Elias Sr. and Miriam (Khoury) Koury.
Theresa made her home in Pawtucket and was a member of St.
Teresa Church for over fifty-eight years.
She was an active member of the parish and served as the church’s sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, and rosary group leader.
She spent countless years volunteering and directing SPRED (Special Religious Education Program) at St.
Teresa Church and being a catechist for special friends.
Most recently, Theresa was a dedicated volunteer at Mother of Life Pregnancy Center in Providence.
In addition to her deep Catholic faith and devotion to her church, she was a member of the Rhode Island Rose Society and a master gardener.
She loved tending to her home garden, especially her beautiful roses.
She took pride giving tours of her garden and sharing bouquets of roses with family, friends, and neighbors.
Theresa treasured visits to the beach, especially taking long walks in the sand, enjoying ocean views, and beautiful sunsets.
She loved to cook and shared her recipes for ethnic dishes.
Most of all, she loved her family and especially her grandchildren.
She was a spiritual guide and best friend.
Theresa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many people she has touched in her lifetime.
Theresa entered the workforce while raising her four children, the loves of her life.
She was a reading teacher assistant, then employed in the accounting department at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket.
Her last employment was an accounting position at Choquette Development Company, East Providence, where she proudly worked until her retirement.
Theresa leaves her four children and their spouses, Lynne M. (Kevin) Rooney, Donna A. (Robert) Gattinella, Stephen E. (Shelly) Choquette, and Kenneth J. (Anna) Choquette.
Theresa leaves six grandchildren and their spouses, Neal (Shannon) Rooney, Brianna (John) Andrea, Haileigh Gattinella, Angela Gattinella, Nickolas Choquette and Caroline Choquette.
A sister, Fariza (Koury, Laurie) Coningford, and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was predeceased by her sisters Joan, Florinda, Evelyn, brothers, John, Wasfy, Joseph, Elias, Leon, and the Rev.
Please join in the celebration of her life on Monday, January 3rd for VISITATION 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St.
Teresa Church 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Burial will be private and limited to Theresa’s four children and grandchildren.
Floral tributes are welcome, however if desired memorial gifts to Mother of Life Center, 400 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909 is appreciated.
