Mary Jane Chase

East Providence – Mary Jane (McCafferty) Chase, 78, of Rumford, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert V.

Born in Glouster, Ohio, a daughter of the late Cecil N. and Juanita M. (Anderson) McCafferty, she resided in Pawtucket before moving to Rumford in 1974.

Mary Jane was employed by The Independence Bank, East Greenwich, for ten years until retiring.

She was previously the Vice-President of Administration at the Catamore Company, East Providence, for twenty years and had also held the position of Vice-President of Special Sales at Victoria Creations, Warren, for seven years.

Mary Jane was a member of the Women’s Jewelry Association, Palestine Shriners Red Hat Club, Past-President of the RI National Federation of Republican Women, and Alternate Delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1976 and 1980.

She enjoyed politics, football and baseball, and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians.

She leaves one son, Robert V.

Chase, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne; four grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Abigail and Brooke Chase, all of Seekonk; a sister, Barbara Capps, of Fair Oaks, California, and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Epiphany, 1336 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford.

Interment will follow at Rumford Cemetery.

VISITATION will be Monday 5 to 7 p.m.
