Pawtucket – Marjorie A. Nashawaty, a retired educator, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2012. Born in Boston, a daughter of the late Fred K. and Weeda (Kando) Nashawaty, she resided in Pawtucket most of her life. Marge was the first person to receive the MA in mathematics from Rhode Island College. She began her teaching career at Lincoln High School, and from 1968 to 1971 she also taught at Rhode Island College. From 1971 to 1977 Marge was the Math Department Chair at East Providence High School and then continued as a teacher of mathematics from 1977 until retiring in 1990. She leaves two brothers, Fred K. Nashawaty, Jr. of Pawtucket and John F. Nashawaty and his wife, Linda of North Providence; a sister, Pamela A. Desmarais and her husband, Anthony of North Providence; two nieces, Julie A. Desmarais and Amy C. Desmarais and a nephew, Anthony Desmarais, Jr. all of North Providence. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave.,...
