Pawtucket – Marion A. (Ackil) Solomon, 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon Solomon.
Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Abdallah and Mary “Richidi” (Nassar) Ackil and was very proud of her Lebanese heritage.
She was proud of her parents’ immigration to the United States.
She loved cooking, especially many Lebanese dishes for family and friends, as well as teaching Arabic songs to her great-grand nieces and nephews.
Marion, graduated from Brockton High School, class of 1957, and worked for many years in both the insurance and real estate businesses.
Until her retirement, Marion was the proprietor of a realty company in East Providence.
In more recent years, Marion made her home in Pawtucket and was a devoted communicant of St.
Teresa Church on Newport Avenue.
She was active in the parish and served as a lector on many occasions.
Marion leaves two brothers, Dr.
Albert Ackil and his wife, Ann, of Canton, MA, and Dr.
Joseph Ackil and his wife, Mary, of Southboro, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends, and extended family.
She was the sister of the late Faris Ackil formerly of Brockton and Josephine (Ackil) George formerly of Taunton.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 a.m. in St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
Memorial gifts to St.
Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St.
Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Steere House, Nursing & Rehab Center, 100 Borden Street, Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
