Maria Margarida Silva

Pawtucket – Maria M. (Bettencourt) Silva, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Silva. Born in Faial, Azores, she was the eldest of thirteen children of the late Carlos and Rosa (Oliveira) Bettencourt. Mrs. Silva immigrated to the United States in 1970 and made her home in Pawtucket. She was a longtime parishioner of the former Church of St. Leo the Great, Pawtucket, and was a woman of great faith. Mrs. Silva dedicated her life to raising her children and tending to her home. She enjoyed cooking, living life and spending time with her family. She is survived by seven children, Lourdes Oliveira, Maria Fatima Rodrigues, Terezinha Silva, Joseph Silva, Maria Jamgochian, Antonio and Manuel Silva; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven siblings and many nieces and nephews.
