Pawtucket – Maria Candida Rainho, 79, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017.
She was the beloved wife of the late Americo L.
Born in Celorico da Beira, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Alexandre and Ana da Conseicao Rainho.
Candida enjoyed gardening, going on cruises and taking walks with her dear cousin, Adriana DosReis.
She was a strong and upbeat lady, who loved to put a smile on everyone’s face.
Candida enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grand and great-grandchildren.
Above all, she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Candida leaves five children, Marylou Rainho White of Hull, MA, Ernie Rainho and his wife, Patricia, of Seekonk, Jose Rainho and his wife, Tina, of Seekonk, Odette R.
Avila and her husband, Ruben, of Seekonk and Gus Rainho and his wife, Janice of Cranston; twelve grandchildren, David and Melissa Rodrigues, Nicholas, Joshua, Taylor, Tiffany and Olivia Rainho, Felicia Purpura, Alex Avila, , Kimberly White Young, Kristen Doane and Kelley Sullivan White; six siblings, Adelaide DaCosta, Mercedes Morgado, Jose Rainho, Delfim Rainho, Maryanne Cordeiro and Fatima Amaral; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother-in-law of the late William White and the sister of the late Joaquim Rainho.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.
Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
VISITATION will be Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts the Bone Marrow Foundation, 515 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10022 will be appreciated.
