Maria Anjos Puga, 79, of Cumberland died Friday at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of Jose Raposo Puga.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Abel and Deodata (Botelho) Camara.
Maria came to the United States in 1975 and settled in Pawtucket.
Prior to her retirement she worked for International Packaging in Pawtucket for many years.
She was a dedicated wife and mother.
Maria loved porcelain dolls and loved to crochet and garden.
Beside her husband she is survived by her children; Jose M.
Puga of East Providence, Natalia M.
Rosa of Cumberland, Maria Luisa Ornelas of Pawtucket, Luis A.
Puga of North Providence and Mario J.
Puga of North Carolina; her brothers, Manuel Camara of East Providence, Jose Antonio Camara of Pawtucket, Gabriel Camara of Pawtucket and Carlos Camara of East Providence; her sisters, Sarafina Rodrigues of South Carolina and Fernanda Camara of Cranston; she is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany Ornelas from North Kingstown, Nicholas Rosa from New York, Kenneth Rosa from Cumberland, Dylan Puga from East Providence, Brandon puga from East Providence and Ashley Puga from North Providence; and her great grandchildren, Maiyah Lynn Rosa, Sofia Skylynn Rosa and Talia Giana Rosa and many nieces and nephews.
Maria was the sister of the late Maria Jose Lima and Domingos Camara.
She was also the grandmother of the late Brittany Rosa.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 1012 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial in St.
Mary Church, Pine Street Pawtucket at 11:00 a.m.
Her life will be celebrated with calling hours on Tuesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
