Maria "Lucy" Da Luz Rodrigues

Maria “Lucy” da Luz (Barbosa) Rodrigues, 82, of East Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 29, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late João L. Rodrigues who passed away on August 31, 2015. Born in the Azores, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Maria da Conceição (Oliveira) Barbosa. Maria came to the United States and settled in the Fox Point section of Providence before moving to East Providence over fifty years ago. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially visiting parks, lakes and time spent by the ocean. But most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Lucy always loved spending time with her family. She leaves a daughter, Tina L. Pereira and her husband, Neil; a son, Lewis J. Rodrigues; two grandchildren, Tyler and Jaxson Rodrigues all of East Providence and three siblings, Antonio Barbosa and his wife, Joan, Carmen Barbosa and John Barbosa.
