Maria Botelho

Pawtucket – Maria (Simas) Botelho, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Botelho for forty-eight years.

Born on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Evelina (Cordeiro) Simas.

Maria immigrated to the United States in 1973 and made her home with her family in Rhode Island.

She worked at the former Texas Instruments, Attleboro, prior to retiring in 2011.

Maria was a longtime communicant of St.

Cecilia Church, Pawtucket, and was a woman of great faith.

She enjoyed spending time in the yard gardening and being with her family.

She is survived by two loving daughters, Nancy Botelho of Seekonk, MA and Joyce Romano and her husband, David, of Pawtucket; four grandchildren, Jasmyn, Jizelle, Christian and Parisa; eight siblings, Fatima, Lucia, Aldina, Rose, Dos Anjos, Duarte, Mario Jorge and Joao, and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday beginning with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in St.

Cecilia Church of St.

John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment with her late husband will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
