Maria Jose Almeida

Seekonk – Maria Jose (Lopes) Almeida, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Antonio T. Almeida for 43 years. Born in Rio de Moinhos, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Maria dos Prazeres Lopes. Maria worked as an assembly line worker at Hasbro for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and taking long walks. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren, Kayla and Tyler. Besides her loving husband, Maria leaves three daughters, Cassilda L. Almeida of Seekonk, Maria Fatima Thongpul and her husband James of Milford, MA and Maria Connie Almeida and her fiancé, John Tavares of Cranston; two grandchildren, Kayla and Tyler Thongpul of Milford, MA; a brother, Albano Lopes of Lisbon, Portugal and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose Lopes. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial...
