Maria C. (Pacheco Cabral) Aguiar, 75, passed away on Sunday evening, October 9, 2022, at the Miriam Hospital after a recent heart attack.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jose M.
Aguiar for fifty-four years.
Born in Ponta Delgada on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose J. and Maria C. (Pacheco) Cabral.
Maria was born on May 14, 1947, and grew up on the island before immigrating to the United Sates in 1978 with her family.
They settled in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and resided there for over forty years.
She was employed as a machine operator at the former Rosbro Plastics, Co., Pawtucket, for seventeen years until her retirement.
Maria was a dedicated mother and sister whose passion was her family.
She loved to cook great Portuguese food while socializing with her family.
Maria had a talent for sewing, knitting and crocheting.
She also enjoyed taking afternoon trips to Twin River Casino with her daughter and late son-in-law, Russell Bears.
Maria lived happily and enjoyed her retired life while spending time with her family.
She is survived by, and will be dearly missed by her loving daughter & devoted caregiver, Nelia Aguiar Bears; her grandson, Adrian Aguiar Ray; her great-grandson, Ryan Aguiar Ray; her sisters, Jeorgina Diaz of Pawtucket, and Lidia Costa of Ponta Delgada; her brothers, Carlos Ventura and Ezekiel Cabral; her niece Natalia Bonella and her sons, Daniel, Jr. and Nicholas; her nephews, Hector Diaz and his sons, Evan and Aiden, and Richard Diaz, his wife Darlene, and daughter Autumn, and family friend, Brigette Robichaud.
She was the mother-in-law of the late Russell Bears and sister of the late Jacinto and Martin Cabral.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, beginning with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and concluding with Services at 11:00 a.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment with her late husband and son-in-law will follow at Mount St.
Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
