Pawtucket – Margaret “Peggy” A. (Steakem) Rivard, 81, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert J. Rivard for 56 years. Born in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late James and Margaret (O’Rourke) Steakem, she moved to Pawtucket in1940. Peggy had been employed at Zayre and Texas Instruments until retiring in 1991. She was a former Cub Scout Den Mother; former communicant of the Church of St. Leo the Great and most recently a communicant of the former St. Mary Church, Seekonk, now Our Lady Queen of Martyrs. Peggy was very creative, she loved gardening and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She leaves three daughters, Karen A. Seeley and her husband Craig of East Freetown, MA, Nancy M. Franklin and her husband Tim of Cumberland and Michelle K. Rivard and Lincoln Lennon of Providence; two sons, James A. Rivard and his wife C.J. of Edgartown, MA and Mark A.
