Pawtucket – Manuel Cortez Mourao, 75, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Maria (Barreira) Mourao.
Born in Adrao Soajo, Portugal, Manuel immigrated to the United States in 1968.
He was a son of the late Joao Vaz Mourao and Teresa Martins Cortez.
Manuel began working at Uncas Manufacturing as a jeweler eventually working his way to manager and retired after thirty-five years with the company.
After retiring from Uncas Manufacturing, he enjoyed delivering flowers for his son’s flower shop, Rosebud Florist in Pawtucket.
Manny enjoyed cooking and entertaining his family and many friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over the past seventy-five years.
Besides his loving wife, Manuel leaves two sons, John Mourao and his wife, Nina, and Manuel Mourao and his wife, Silvia, all of Rehoboth; four grandchildren, Ethan, Nicholas, Mia and Madilyn Mourao; a great-grandchild, Paisley; siblings, Rosa Cascalheira (late husband, Manuel), Lurdes Ribiero and her husband, Antonio and Helena Costa and her husband, Luis, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Serafim Mourao.
VISITATION will be held on Wednesday, February 5th beginning at 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery.
Flowers are respectfully omitted.
