Rehoboth – Manuel “Manny” M.
Morgado, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Merces C. (Rainho) Morgado for fifty-seven years.
Born in Vide Entre Vinhas, Celorico da Beira, Portugal, he was the son of the late Joaquin and Esperanca (Martins) Morgado.
Manny and his wife settled in Angola shortly after marriage and began their life with their son.
He immigrated to the United States in 1974 to Pawtucket and worked at American Insulated Wire.
Manny and his brother-in-law, Antonio DaCosta, started their own concrete business, which they owned until his retirement.
Manny enjoyed tending to his grapevines and sharing his homemade wine with his family and friends.
He loved playing his harmonica and singing folk songs from his youth while family and friends danced and sang along.
Manny’s presence will be greatly missed by all the lives he has touched.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his devoted son, Carlos Morgado and his wife, Grace, of Rehoboth, MA; three grandchildren, Alexander, Anthony and Caitlin Morgado; a brother Agostinho M.
Morgado of Portugal and many friends near and far.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.
Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
