Manuel Gomes

Cumberland – Manuel Gomes, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Lucilia C. (Albuquerque) Gomes. The couple would have celebrated their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary of Monday, November 19, 2018. Born in Trancoselos, Portugal, he was a son of the late Joaquim Gomes and Emilia da Conceicao. Manuel came to the United States in April of 1968 and settled in Cumberland. He was a member of Clube Juventude Lusitana. Besides his wife, he leaves four children, Graciete Medeiros and her husband, Robert, Emily Gomes, John Gomes and Lucille Avelar and her husband, Frank, and eight grandchildren, Bobby, Jessica, Jacqueline, John Reiner, Zach, Jack, Gabriel and Lucas. He was the brother of Joao, Secundina and Alexandrina Gomes. He was the father of the late Secundina Albuquerque Gomes.
