Pawtucket – Manuel “Manny” DeCosta, 71, passed away after a brief battle with terminal cancer on Friday, October 15, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia M. (Donahue) DeCosta for thirty-six years.
Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel and Margaret (Stanley) DeCosta.
Manny worked as a crane operator for both, the former Washman Wire, Riverside and Castellucci Marble & Granite, Inc., Lincoln.
He retired in 1990 from George W.
Smith & Sons, Pawtucket, where he worked as a brick pointer.
Manny was an avid New England sports fan who enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He was a member of the Pawtucket Elks golf league, along with his son, Kyle, and won the 2014 championship together.
His presence will be dearly missed by the lives he has touched over the years.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three children, Derek and Kyle DeCosta, both of Pawtucket, and Koury Donahue, also of Pawtucket; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and four siblings, Tempest Joyce of North Kingstown, Diane Dessert of Pawtucket, Michael DeCosta, also of Pawtucket and Evelyn DeCosta of Cumberland.
He was the father of the late Keri and Kristen DeCosta, and brother of the late Margaret Andrews and Joyce Audette.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by Words of Remembrance at 11:00 a.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Seekonk Cemetery, Newman Ave., Seekonk.
