Malcolm P. Chrystie

East Providence – Malcolm “Mal” P.

Chrystie, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2022.

He was the beloved husband of Lois F. (Franklin) Chrystie for sixty-two years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Burnell) Chrystie.

Mal grew up in Pawtucket and graduated from Tolman East High School in 1951.

He worked in sales for several companies including the former Alperts of Seekonk, the former Anson’s of Cranston, and the former Ann & Hope of Cumberland.

Mal and his wife were deeply rooted in their faith and were members of both, First Baptist Church and Park Place Congregational Church, both of Pawtucket.

Mal was an eternal optimist who saw the world through rose-colored glasses.

He had a wonderful disposition and carried himself with positivity and a smile.

Mal enjoyed gardening, camping and visiting Martha’s Vineyard, where he met the love of his life.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, David B.

Chrystie and his wife, Lisa, of Kernersville, NC and Dawn C.

Houle and her husband, Stephen, of Seekonk, MA; four granddaughters, Morgan and Meredith Chrystie, and Sara and Allison Houle, and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Theodore “Ted”, Budde and David Chrystie and Margaret “Peg” Pelletier.

His funeral will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 beginning with visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by Services at 11:00 a.m. in WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment in the family plot will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Park Place Congregational Church, 71 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
