Lt. Kenneth F. Ryan, Sr.

November 23, 1934 — September 30, 2022

Ryan, Sr., Pawtucket Police Department (Ret.), 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Gloria (Natalini) Ryan for sixty-one beautiful years.

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Garrett) Ryan.

A veteran of the U.S.

Army, Kenneth proudly served his country from 1954 -1957.

He attended Salve Regina University, Newport, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

Kenneth served with Pawtucket Police Department for thirty years, retiring as Lieutenant in 1994.

He was a member of the Pawtucket Police Association, the Attleboro Elks Lodge #1014 and a member of the FOP, Pawtucket, for thirty years.

Kenneth was a gifted writer who authored three books and was a contributing member of the Association of Rhode Island Authors.

He was an avid New England sports fan and a New England Patriots season ticket holder for over forty years.

Kenneth’s presence, smile and impact will be greatly missed by all the lives he has touched.

He was the father of the late Brenda Hopper and brother of the late William and Joseph Ryan.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two beloved children, Cheryl Perry and her husband, Paul, and Kenneth F.

Ryan, Jr. and his wife, Odalys; seven grandchildren, Ashley Hernandez, Ryan Perry, Douglas Hopper, III, Christina Cello, and Julia, Amanda and Kelli Ryan; six great-grandchildren, Jayden and Avery Hernandez, Olivia and Ryan “RJ” Perry, Madison and Hudson Cello, and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Dr., Seekonk.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mount St.

Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
