Cumberland – Louis “Lou” R. Read, 76, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Born in Providence, a son of the late Louis F. and Elsie M. (Wildgust) Read, Lou resided in Pawtucket until moving to Cumberland in 1977. He was a Patrolman for the Pawtucket Police Department for thirty years before retiring in 1997. Lou was a car enthusiast “In recognition of the upgrading of his vehicles and collection, his on-going work in the car collectors world, for the many years of dedication to the antique and car collector world, and his knowledge of antique cars. He started purchasing vehicles when they could be bought for “cheap money”. He has the knack for finding the great buys and capitalizing on it.
