Louis J. Latraverse

Pawtucket – Louis J. Latraverse, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (LaPorte) Latraverse for twenty-five years. A longtime resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John F. and Florence (Allard) Latraverse.

Louis was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War, assigned to the USS Rich DD-820 Destroyer. Louis’s tour was in the Mediterranean Sea and visited ports in Spain, Portugal, and Italy. Louis attended Johnson & Wales College for business and went on to a career at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for many years until retiring.

In his leisure time, Louis enjoyed playing golf, fishing, road trips, camping, boating, and metal detecting. He also loved going to yard sales to find treasures. Louis loved all critters great and small, and would be ready with a pocket full of peanuts. One of his favorite places was Tigger’s II for breakfast and visiting Tigger’s staff.

He treasured spending time with family, which was his greatest joy in life. Louis will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over his lifetime.

Besides his loving wife, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine (Cassidy) Latraverse. Louis leaves five daughters, Cheryl A. Quinn of Cumberland, Karen L. Gundelfinger (William) of Lakewood, Colorado, Christine M. Armoush of Seekonk, Kathy A. Algiere of Johnston and stepdaughter, Alicia E. Griffin (Joe) of Connecticut; two sisters-in-law, Dolores Latraverse of Central Falls, and Jean Lavallee of Lincoln. Louis loved his eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John, Albert and Raymond Latraverse, and Alice Marques.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Committal Services and Military Honors on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 10 a.m. at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Memorial gifts to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 would be deeply appreciated in Louis’s memory.
