Louis "Lou" A. Labounty

Seekonk - Louis "Lou" A.

LaBounty, 75, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, February 16, 2020, with family by his side.

He was the husband of Gloria R. (Peloquin) LaBounty for fifty-four years.

Born in Pawtucket on October 31, 1944, Lou was the son of the late Louis A. and Theresa B. (Cournoyer) LaBounty.

A 1962 graduate of Tolman High School in Pawtucket, he served six years in the U.S.

Lou worked in the retail industry for most of his life, including more than 20 years as a department manager at Ann & Hope in Cumberland, RI and Seekonk, MA.

He was an avid sports fan throughout his life, loving all sports, particularly those involving his favorite New England teams.

He was especially dedicated to youth sports, and regularly attended games in which his children participated.

Lou (Grandpa) then pursued his passion in more recent years as he followed his grandchildren's athletic achievements on youth, high school and college teams.

Lou loved spending time with family at home and on Cape Cod and traveling with his wife to Aruba and the national parks.

In his retirement, he enjoyed being in his backyard, feeding the birds and squirrels, and relaxing on the deck.

Besides his wife Gloria, he is survived by two children, Kevin R.

LaBounty and his wife, Elizabeth, of Norton, MA, and Dawn C.

Rego and her husband, John, of Bristol; two grandchildren, Carissa and Jared Rego, also of Bristol; three siblings, Dennis LaBounty of North Grafton, MA, Joan DeCelles of North Smithfield and Alan LaBounty of Livingston Manor, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Ronald LaBounty.

His funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow in Seekonk Dexter Avenue Cemetery, Dexter Ave., Seekonk, MA.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
